Four-Day PADI Open Water Course
The Great Barrier Reef is a wonderful place to learn scuba diving. The safe, warm waters offer year-round access to some of the best scuba diving in the world.
If you have evening plans and prefer not to stay overnight on a vessel, this four-day PADI Open Water Course with Divers Den is the perfect way to get the most out of your Open Water certification.
You’ll do your training over four days: The first two days, you will learn the theory and practice your skills in the classroom and pool at Divers Den five-star PADI career development and dive training centre. This will be followed by two day trips to the Great Barrier Reef onboard their day boat vessel, AquaQuest.
By the end of the course, you will become a certified PADI Open Water scuba diver, which allows you to scuba dive anywhere in the world.

Important Information
-
- The minimum age is 10 to participate in a PADI Open Water Course (12 for the advanced course). If the diver is under 12, we must be informed before the course starts, as a private instructor will join on the sea days.
- Anyone 15 or under needs to be accompanied by a Parent or Guardian during day trips on the Reef. A 16 or 17-year-old may travel without a Parent or Guardian if we have prior written parental consent and the relevant liability forms signed by a Parent or Guardian.
- Ability to pass a 200m swim and 10-minute treading water test
Important Medical Requirement
All students enrolling in the PADI Open Water Course must complete a PADI Medical Questionnaire before participating. If any medical conditions require further assessment, you must have the final page of the form signed by a qualified physician before you can dive. Failure to provide medical clearance, if required, may prevent you from joining the course. No refunds are issued for failed medicals.
Flying after Scuba Diving
It would be best if you did not fly or go to altitude for at least 18 hours after a scuba dive for single no-decompression scuba dive. Furthermore, you should not fly for 24 hours after your last dive for multiple dives.
